Prominent educationist Dr. Panchami Bhattacharyya Borah passes away in Jorhat

JORHAT: Prominent educationist, writer, philosopher, social activist, former Vice-Principal and former Head of the Department of Philosophy of JB College, Jorhat, Dr. Panchami Bhattacharyya Borah passed at a private hospital on Tuesday. She was 60. She leaves behind her husband Lalit Borah, veteran journalist and sports organizer and a host of relatives.

Her demise was widely condoled by Hitendranath Goswami, MLA of Jorhat, Rupjyoti Kurmi, MLA of Mariani, former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and other political leaders and dignitaries.

On behalf of the Assam Government, Deputy Commission Roshni Aparanji Korati and Jorhat SP Mrinal Talukday paid floral tributes along with Jul Khound, AASU central committee member. Her last rite was performed in Tarajan crematorium.
