Proper investigation into journalists’ harassment demanded; submit memorandum to Assam Home Minister

NAZIRA: The recent incidents of journalists’ harassment in the state, where journalists from two satellite channels were targeted by miscreants, sparked strong reactions in the media fraternity. ND24’s Dhekiajuli correspondent Bimaljyoti Nath and Prag News’ Dhemaji correspondent Madhurya Saikia from Silapathar were attacked while performing their duties. The Nazira Hangabadik Mancha submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister of Assam through the Co-District Commissioner of Nazira seeking a proper investigation of these incidents. The Mancha demanded justice for the affected journalists and urged the authorities to take necessary actions to ensure their safety and security.

Meanwhile, the CDC of Nazira was accused of behaving rudely with the team of journalists who went to submit the memorandum.
