LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district committee of Youth Congress has expressed a strong reaction over the expulsion of Kaliabor Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi from the whole proceeding of the ongoing Budget session of the Parliament along with six other Congress MPs. The brother organization of Congress party termed the development as ‘a hatched conspiracy’ against them. Regarding the issue, the Lakhimpur district committee of the organization staged a protest in Lakhimpur on Sunday in association with Dhakuakhana, Ghilamora, and Boginadi Block committees. The activists of the organization, led by Lakhimpur district Youth Congress president Ananda Narah, burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Dhakuakhana town Chariali vehemently opposing the expulsion of the Congress MPs and demanded to withdraw their expulsion.

Dhakuakhana Youth Congress Block president Migom Doley, Ghilamora Youth Congress president Khagen Chetia, Boginadi Youth Congress president Niranjan Kaman along with other dignitaries were present in the protest programme. The Naoboicha Block Youth Congress Committee also staged similar protests at Naoboicha on the same day. Lok Sabha on Thursday passed a motion suspending seven Congress members along with Gaurav Gogoi for the remaining period of the Budget session for their ‘gross misconduct’ after they snatched papers from the Speaker’s table and ‘utter disregard’ for House rules.
