Protest against price hike of essential commodities in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: The activists of Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) of Golaghat district unit staged a sit-in near the District Commissioner’s office on Saturday in Golaghat protesting against the skyrocketing price hike of essential commodities. The activists raised various slogans against the State government as well as Supply Minister Ranjit Dass.

Attending the programme, AJP central committee secretary Raju Phukan slammed BJP government and criticized the Assam government for failing to control price hike of essential commodities. He said that the State government has totally failed to control price hike. The price of essential commodities is increasing day by day. As a result the common people is suffering a lot. The organization threatened massive agitation against the government.

In the protest programme, AAP Golaghat district committee extended their cooperation and took part in the protest programme. AJP members Rina Saikia and Ranju Bora took part.
