Public meeting on Nat: Theatre Archive of Assam Project held in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: A public meeting on Nat: Theatre Archive of Assam Project undertaken by Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Samaj was held in the Normal School of Dhakuakhana of Lakhimpur district on Thursday. The meeting commenced with Bidya Dutta, the Principal of Dhakuakhana Natya Bidyalaya, in the chair.

Attending the event, Project Director of Nat: Theatre Archive of Assam Project, from Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Samaj, explained the main objectives of the project and the mission. Theatre personalities of Dhakuakhana— Gourab Baruah, Amiya Gogoi, Buddhi Das, Leena Borgohain, Dr. Jitu Kumar Chamuah, Rajib Baruah, Khirod Neog, Tolan Dutta delivered speech highlighting the theatrical tradition of Dhakuakhana. Assistant officer of the project, Bishmita Devi, Principal of Dhakuakhana Normal School, Lakhi Konwar were also present in the meeting wherein a convener committee for collection of theatrical information and performance materials in Dhakuakhana was formed.
