LAKHIMPUR: Ranganadi Sahitya Parishad, an organization of Lakhimpur dedicatedly working for the enhancement of literature and culture, conferred the Ranganadi Shilpi Bota (Ranganadi Artiste Award) on Robin Doley on Monday. Doley is an inborn artiste, dramatist, actor and the founder of Anima Putala (Puppet) Theatre. As the founder of the Anima Putala Theatre, Doley took puppetry to a new dimension with his experimental works in the performing art. He received artiste honour from the Government of Assam in 2022.

In order to confer the award on him, a ceremonial programme was organized at Naharbari Yuva Sangha auditorium. The programme was chaired by Paramananda Das, the retired headmaster of Amtola High School. In the same programme, a book titled as 'Anima Putala Theatre Aru Robin Doley' was released. The book which was published in honour of Robin Doley, was edited by Sanjib Borah and Rintu Saikia. It incorporates articles on life and works of the artiste, the background of founding Anima Putala Theatre along with a number of research levels articles on puppetry (puppet show) in Assam. The book was released by Niran Kumar Borah, the former Assistant Secretary of Axam Xahitya Xabha-cum-retired Principal of ADK Higher Secondary School.
