PWD employee caught red-handed accepting bribe in Silchar

Sribas Ghose, a non-regular master roll worker working in the office of the Executive Engineer PWD for the last 14 years, was taking Rs 5000 from a grade III contractor as bribe in the office premise when the V&AC team, led by a senior Inspector, caught him red-handed. Interestingly, Ghose was taking the bribe for licence in the Labour department.
Sources in the PWD hinted that Ghose had been taking bribe for managing licence from the Labour department for long time. Some of his clients brought the matter to the notice of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell and the team arrived here on Friday evening. Finally on Saturday noon, Ghosh was caught while taking bribe. The V&AC officials also raided the residence of Ghose.
