Python rescued near Demow

DEMOW: Local people rescued a python in Nitaipukhuri Garu Khuti area near Demow on Saturday. According to sources, the reptile was recovered from the duck enclosure of Prasanta Barua. After entering the enclosure, the python was consuming the ducks. The residents immediately informed the Demow Forest Beat Office. Soon a team of Forest personnel arrived at the site and took custody of the python. They released the reptile in the Panidehing Bird Sanctuary on Saturday. The python weighed around 25 to 30 kg, said a Forest official.
