Raids conducted at picnic spots under Margherita sub division
As a part of the anti-liquor drive on the eve of the new year, the Margherita and Digboi Excise Party jointly conducted raids at Nazirating and maintained a close vigil.

TINSUKIA: As a part of the anti-liquor drive on the eve of the new year, the Margherita and Digboi Excise Party jointly conducted raids at Nazirating and maintained a close vigil. They patrolled at the picnic spots under Margherita sub division. Apart from patrolling the team also carried out an awareness programme urging the citizens to strictly avoid drinking liquor in public places.
Simultaneously, the team also carried out excise raids in Tingrai, Nazirating, Digboi Chariali under Digboi PS and detected 2 cases and seized 50 litres of illicit distilled liquor on Wednesday while on Thursday raids were conducted along NH 38 and 4 no Makum Pathar in which 4 litres of illicit distilled liquor were seized and one person was arrested under section 61(B)(a) of AE Act 2000 (as amended) for consuming liquor in public place. Additionally, a Naka checking along N.H 38 near Ledo area was also carried out by the team.
