Raijor Dal Sonitpur district conveners' committee formed at District Library

TEZPUR: Raijor Dal announced a 101-member conveners' committee of the Raijor Dal Sonitpur District Chapter along with 6 Chief Conveners of the District in a meeting held at District Library auditorium on Sunday.

The meeting was chaired by well-known filmmaker, Padma Bhushan and Advisor of Raijor Dal, JahnuBaruah, Dr Narayan Sarmah, Advisor, Raijor Dal, State Convener, Raijor Dal, Jarifa Wahid, Chief Convener of Raijor Dal, GirisankarGoswami among others.

RaijorDol, floated by the KrishakMuktiSangramSamiti, a peasant group led by Akhil Gogoi, who has been in jail since December. The RaijorDol is backed by 70 ethnic groups that had banded with the KrishakMuktiSangramSamiti to oppose the changes to the citizenship law. It is mentioned here United Regional Party, merged with the Raijor Dar when the latter was launched on August 26, breakaway AsomGanaParishad (AGP) and breakaway Trinamool cadres and a section of intellectuals.

Speaking on the occasion JahnuBaruah said that the party is set to form the government in 2021 state assembly elections in the State. Baruah also said that the party will join hands with all tribes and communities, Misings, Dimasas, Karbis and all others who believe that regional aspirations of the people is above all else and are working in the field to that effect.

Earlier, as many as 800 members from various political parties joined Raijor Dal in the presence of State chief convener of Raijor Dal, AlokNath, PulinBhattacharjee, State convener among others.
