Raijor Dal to field candidate for upcoming by-elections in Thowra constituency
Ahead of the upcoming by-elections in Assam, Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on Monday visited 107 Thowra constituency to meet the workers.

SIVASAGAR: Ahead of the upcoming by-elections in Assam, Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on Monday visited 107 Thowra constituency to meet the workers.
Gogoi said that his party Raijor Dal had decided to field a candidate in the forthcoming by-elections for the Thowra constituency and the name of the candidate would be declared very soon.
Thowra legislative seat has been lying vacant since Congress legislator Sushanta Borgohain resigned from the party membership and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Commenting on alliance with Congress, Gogoi said, "We have already talked with the Congress about forming an alliance for the upcoming Assembly by-elections." Gogoi also said that the Congress and the Raijor Dal must be united in order to defeat the BJP in the by-elections.
