Rail blockade in Dima Hasao continues

Haflong: “We will continue our peaceful protest till the Railways release our rightful compensation which has been promised to us,” said David Keivom, president of NCHISF, on Saturday. He said, “We have received a letter from the Divisional Railway Manager, NF Railway, Lumding inviting us for final discussion with the General Manager (Construction) NF Railway to be held on March 11 at 3.30 Pm. Enough is enough.

We will not fall again in the trap of the delaying tactics of the Railways as they only know how to give assurances and never about fulfilling their promsies. What change can we expect by attending the meeting called by the Railways even they do not bother about the order of the Chief Secretary, Government of Assam? We have lost confidence in the Railways. We only have confidence in our State Government. So we would like to remind the Railway authority that we have had enough meetings, we have lost confidence in the Railways.”
