'Railway committed to solve compensation issue' says General Manager of NF Railway Construction Nilesh Kishore Prasad

Haflong: To discuss the compensation issue, the NC Hills Indigenous Students' Forum called on Nilesh Kishore Prasad, General Manager, NF Railway Construction at his office chamber at Maligaon in Guwahati on Thursday, informed Devid Keivom, president of NCHISF.

"Railway was committed to solve the compensation issue even though there were no rules under Railway to pay land development cost compensation without acquiring the land," General Manager of NF Railway Construction Nilesh Kishore Prasad said. This was informed by the president of NCHISF Devid Keivom.

They have already constituted a three-member committee which comprises of Deputy Chief Engineer, ADEN and DC's representatives to assess the damages and estimate the bill submitted by Revenue department. GM assured that after the submission of report by the committee, payment of compensation would be considered as damage cost without any further delay.
