Railway employees stage demo at New Bongaigaon Railway junction

BONGAIGAON: Protesting against the railway administration’s decision to transfer crew link operation of New Bongaigaon Railway Junction to Alipurduar Junction and Guwahati, the running employees of New Bongaigaon staged a protest programme at New Bongaigaon Railway Junction on Wednesday.

Talking to the press, the employees emphasized the strategic importance of New Bongaigaon Railway Junction in the North East. “The economy of Lower Assam depends on this station and it is a crucial hub. The transfer of the crew link from New Bongaigaon seems like a conspiracy to reduce the importance of the station. This is a big conspiracy which needs to be averted anyhow,” the employees mentioned.

The employees appealed to the railway administration to reconsider the decision of transferring crew link from New Bongaigaon. “Otherwise we shall be forced to adopt a massive agitation in the coming days,” the employees stated.
