Railway Mazdoor Union threatens to stop train movement

Bongaigaon: The Railway department has suddenly withdrawn the Loco Pilot changing point from New Bongaigaon and transferred it to New Cooch Behar of West Bengal. The Loco Pilot changing point of total 24 trains has been transferred to New Cooch Behar out of total 48 trains by the Railway administration vide Letter No -Mech./R&L/Crew Link/146/Part VI dated March 15.
Protesting against this move, the NF Railway Mazdoor Union Running Branch, in association with Bongaigaon, New Bongaigaon BG and New Bongaigaon Workshop branch, staged a massive demonstration on Tuesday in New Bongaigaon Railway Junction. Several noted leaders of the union, including Ashish Biswas, joint general secretary, were present.
Addressing the gathering, Ashish Biswas said that this was a conspiracy to finish New Bongaigaon junction and NFRMU would never let it happen. “We demand that this new order should be cancelled immediately otherwise all Railway staff will adopt the path of agitation and will be compelled to stop railway movement. Not a single train will move through New Bongaigaon Junction if our demand is not fulfilled within 10 days,” he said. In this regard, the union submitted a memorandum to the CME (O&S) of N F Railway through ADME, New Bongaigaon.
