Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary reviews COVID-19 preparedness in Tamulpur

TAMULPUR: Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary visited Tamulpur on Friday evening to observe the situation of the subdivision. He attended a meeting in the office of the Subdivisional Officer (C) of Tamulpur with Sujit Baglary, SDO (Civil), where SDPO of Tamulpur, Ashima Kalita, SDMO of Tamulpur, Dr. Harimohan Kalita, Medical Officer Dr. Gautam Medhi, and Superintendent of Food and Civil Supplies of Tamulpur were present.

During the discussion, Dr Kalita and Dr Medhi gave details about the quarantine centre set up in the girls’ hostel of Tamulpur Girls’ High School. During the discussion, Daimary advised the doctors to keep communication with the district administration. He asked the Food and Civil Supply department to ensure availability of essential commodities.

Talking to media persons, Daimary urged people to follow the lockdown guidelines and to maintain social distancing.

Meanwhile, the Nagrijuli Model Hospital has kept 15 beds ready for COVID-19 patients. Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary visited Nagrijuli Model Hospital and observed the isolation wards with the doctors and staff. During his visit, Daimary advised Dr. Manohar Das, in-charge of Nagrijuli Model Hospital, to communicate with the District Health Department and district administration for any requirement to maintain the isolation centre smoothly. Daimary also suggested Dr. Das to submit a list of materials required for the centre to district health department as early as possible.
