Ranganadi erosion hits Bogolijan under Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The flood situation has remained the same in Lakhimpur district for the last four days. On Friday the first wave of flash flood has affected 59 revenue villages under four Revenue Circles (RCs) of the district. These Revenue Circles are Bihpuria, Narayanpur, North Lakhimpur and Subansiri.

At present, 24 revenue villages under, Bihpuria RC, named Dharmapur Block, Ahmedpur Block, Fatehpur, Bodoti Miri, Bodoti Alimur, Gahori Ghat PGR, Kalawani Batumchuk, No. 2 Dahghoria, No. 2 Aunibari., Bholukaguri, Dhunabari, Dhunabari, Khanikar, No.1 Aunibari, Pavamukh Vekeli, No. 2 Kaniajan, No. 2 Kaniajan, No. 1 Chenimora Kangkur, No. 2 Chenimora Kangkur, Bahgora Pothar, Bahgora Deori, Puroni Bahgora, No. 1 Dohghoria, Daulotpur, Islampur Gaon have been submerged by flash flood.

Similarly, 33 revenue villages under Narayanpur RC named Borthekarabari, No. 2 Borpathar, No. 2 Tatibahar, No. 3 Borpathar, No. 1 Tatibahar, No. 4 Tatibahar, Majar Chapori NC, Banamukh NC, Kong Bong Chapori NC, Dikrongmukh, No. 1 Sonaribari, Sonaribari Grazing, No. 1 Harmoti, Saraidoloni, Sayang Kerker NC, Sayang Patir NC, No. 2 Sonaribari, Bordeuri, No. 2 Notgaon, Borbill Gowalchapori, Majgaon (Narayanpur Mouza), Aunibori, Anuboicha, Borbill, No. 2 Rangati, No. 1 Khalihamari, Majordoloni, Banpuroi Latabari, No. 1 Maghnuwa, Jarabari, Ganakdoloni, Futabhog, No. 1 Bothakhana have been under water for the week. On the other hand, one village under North Lakhimpur RC named Bamungaya and one village under Subansiri RC named Mohbal NC have been inundated by flash flood.

In Bihpuria RC flood affected 250 fisheries afresh at Fatehpur-Ahmedpur area, 350 of the same at Kutubpur Dharmapur area under Karunabari Development Block. In Kadam RC, a bridge approach and a road was damaged due to incessant rains and raising of water level of the river Konajan at Tadang Mirigaon. In Narayanpur RC, almost 9 fisheries at Tatibahar area have been affected afresh. On the other hand, the erosion caused by river Ranganadi has been active at Bogolijan since May 18 covering an area of 500 metres in length.
