RANGIA: Two students of SERS Public school Rangia Tanuj Samaddar of class VIII and Samarjyoti Bhagawati of class X won prizes in 44th Eastern India Science Fair and 18th Engineering Fair held at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) Kolkata.

The event was inaugurated by Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal. 226 students and 129 guide teachers representing 173 schools from 11 Eastern India states including, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Odisha, Tripura, Sikkim and Nagaland participated in the fair.

156 models and projects have been put up to show innovative skills of the students. Assam was the runners up group in the quiz competition held there. Tanuj Sammader of SERS Public school Rangia represented the Assam group.

On the other hand, Samarjyoti Bagamati of the same school got the state best award for his model “Intelligent system for safe driving”. He was awarded by a cash prize of Rs 4000 and a citation. . His guide teacher Naba Deka got a cash prize of Rs 2000 and a trophy. Tanuj Samaddar got a packet of valuable books and citation. Kuldeep Kalita also accompanied them as a guide teacher.
