LAKHIMPUR: Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), North Lakhimpur, conducted an exposure visit of farmers belonging to Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts from December 9 to December 11. The programme was initiated with financial support from 'NABARD' under (Capacity Building for Adoption of Technology) CAT programme.

A team of 25 farmers took part in the programme and left for Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat on December 9. The event was flagged off by Dr Prabal Saikia, Chief Scientist, RARS, North Lakhimpur, in the presence of Amlan Tamuly, DDM, 'NABARD', Lakhimpur. The team visited different departments, experimental fields viz— integrated farming system units, fishery units, animal husbandry farms and interacted with the scientists concerned. The farmers, during the return journey, visited the 'Pabhoi Greens' and 'Pabhoi Fishery' at Biswanath Chariali and got exposure to high-tech agriculture. Neelam Dutta, a renowned agripreneur and the owner of the farm, interacted with the farmers on December 11. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Nripen Gogoi and Pinku Protim Gogoi of RARS, North Lakhimpur.
