MANGALDAI: Synchronizing with the countrywide celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Divas to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of the 'Iron Man of India' SardarVallavbhai Patel, Jan SikhshanSansthan (JSS) Darrang also celebrated the day with a day-long programme at Sainik Bhavan here in Mangaldai on Saturday.

The Rashtriya Ekta Divas has been celebrated by the Government of India since 2014 to mark the birth anniversary of the 'Iron Man of India' with the aim to provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and the security of our country.

General Manager of District Industries and Commerce Centre, Darrang, HemantaTalukdar ceremonially inaugurated the day by lighting an earthen lamp in a traditional way in the function presided over by lead district manager, BP Karmakar. Taking part in the celebration, director of JSS, Sheikh Md. Amin explained the significance and importance of the day and also administered the pledge to the officials, volunteers and all present in the celebration.

Assistant Director of Sericulture and vice-chairman of JSS, JogeshTalukdar in his speech gave detailed information on maintenance of COVID-19 protocol in re-opening of all the training centres. He also expressed hope that women could play a key role in strengthening the rural economy through the skill development training centres of JSS. The officials also interacted with the successful beneficiaries and offered them certificates of performance.

KALAIGAON: The BhergaonSubdivisional Office observed the National Unity Day (RashtriyaEktaDivas ) on Saturday with a day-long programme in their office campus at Bhergaon.

Gakul Ch. Brahma, SDO ( C ) of Bhergaon subdivision, along with other officers like KushalKalita and SDIPRO NirmalJyoti Sharma took part in this programme. All the staff of the office also attended and took pledge for National Unity. SDO ( C ) Gakul Ch. Brahma spoke on significance of the day.

GOLAGHAT: The 142 Battalion, CRPF, Jonaki Nagar, Golaghat, Assam observed the National Unity Day (RashtriyaEkta Divas) in a befitting manner to commemorate the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel on Saturday.

The programme started with a march past by the 02 platoon of jawans of 142 Bn and then the Commandant of 142 Bn administered the RashtriyaEkta Divas pledge to officers, subordinate officers and jawans.

The Commandant of 142 Bn also delivered a speech about the objective of the National Unity Day to re-affirm the strength and resilience of the nation so as to withstand any upcoming potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of the country.
