Guwahati: Bidyut Bikash Rajkonwar has been conferred the Rashtriya Gaurav Samman 2019 during the International Youth Conference 2019 at Andhra Bhawan, New Delhi recently in recognition of leadership and outstanding work rendered in the field of social service activities to the community. Bidyut Bikash Rajkonwar who comes from MathurapurKuwar Gaon in the Charaideo district of Assam is working as a Specialist (Organic Cotton Supply Chain) in Aga Khan Foundation India, New Delhi.

He worked with the Tribal Organic Cotton Farmers of Madhya Pradesh with the objective of building the knowledge base and capacity of farmers to adopt organic farming approaches, reducing input costs and facilitating linkages of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) with the organic cotton supply chain. 7000 organic cotton growing farmers are associated with the supply chain that will scale upto 40000 farmers in the next phase starting January 2020. He has facilitated sustainable market linkages to 7000 small holder organic cotton farmers enabling them to earn increased incomes and improving livelihood by providing them with access to a sustainable and fair organic cotton market.

The Award was conferred to 10 International &50 National individuals of distinction for their commitment and work towards the nation. The Award ceremony has been organized by International Youth Society and National Youth Awardees Federation of India. This Award is the premiere and the prestigious award in India for excellence in development as well as constructive work.The Award was presented by Dr. S.N. Subba Rao, Founder, National Youth Project India, ManharValjibhaiZala, Chairperson, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis Acharya Guru Karma Tanpai, International Peace Guru, Royal Monastery, Nepal, Dr. Javid Jamadar, national president, NYAFI Shefali Sood, Miss India Diva Supranational. A press release stated.
