MANGALDAI: As many as 1,481 candidates, out of total 2,340 in Darrang district appeared in the re-examination for the post of Police Sub Inspector. However, 849 candidates who had earlier appeared in the written examination did not turn up. The district police made strict arrangements in the four examination centres at Mangaldai namely Mangaldai College, Don Bosco, Town Girls HS School and Brilliant Academy. Additional SP (HQ) Ujjwal Pratim Barua, Additional SP (Border) Pallabi Mazumdar, DSP (HQ) Mamoni Hazarika and DSP of DSB P Nath were entrusted as the incharge of the examination halls. All the candidates were thoroughly frisked at the entrance. Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan himself was seen supervising the security arrangements till the examination was over. Officials from Dibrugarh University were deputed to conduct the written examination smoothly in cooperation from the respective academic institutions.
