Reality show to hunt for Lok sangeet artistes to begin in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: After two successful seasons, All India Radio (AIR) Dibrugarh is all set to begin the third season of JJM Hospitals Lok sangeet Madhuri, a talent hunt for the singers of Assamese Lok Sangeet, especially Kamrupiya and Goalpariya Lokgeet, from September 18.

To be presented in the form of a reality show, anyone in the age group of 16-30 can take part in the contest, barring the ones who are already recognized as artistes of AIR. The competition will be divided into two broad stages. The first stage, which entails the preliminary round, will shortlist the applicants based on their performance. The shortlisted ones will qualify for the second stage, where ultimately only four will compete for the title. The winner and the runners-up will be awarded certificate and a cash prize. Moreover, they will also earn the recognition of being the Lokgeet artistes of AIR, Dibrugarh.

The competition, that is expected to be over in the month of October, will be aired on 529.1 meters and 567 kilohertz of a medium wave, and also on 101.3 megahertz of FM band through AIR, Dibrugarh.
