Refresher training on eVIN organized in Sonitpur district

Tezpur: A day-long refresher training programme on eVIN was held on Thursday in Sonitpur district under the Universal Immunization programme (UIP) as a part of the innovative Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN).

The eVIN, which is implemented by the Government of Assam with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has resulted in real-time monitoring of vaccine stocks and temperatures meaning visibility up to the cold chain points which have ensured that vaccines are available in all immunization sessions. The district training programme was organized for the 84 cold chain handlers (CCH) of the district in two batches. The training was attended by Joint Director Health, Dr. Khrishna Kemprai, DIO Dr. Biman Sharma and other dignitaries.

During the inaugural function, Joint Director Health, Sonitpur, Dr. Krishna Kemprai, and DIO Dr. Biman Sharma presented an overview of the training programme. Dr. Biman Sharma said that eVIN had resulted in real-time monitoring of vaccine stocks and temperature visibility up to the cold chain points, which in itself had ensured that vaccines were available at all the immunization sessions.
