Regional agriculture fair at Assam Agricultural University

JORHAT: Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Joint director Sudhir Kumar said that the government was initiating steps to promote natural farming in the country.

Addressing the concluding function of the three-day Regional Agriculture Fair at Assam Agricultural University here on Monday, Kumar further said that the government was giving utmost importance to the development of agriculture in the country.

The stalls set up by Central Agriculture University, Imphal, Nazira based Leena's Homemade Pickles and Anjali Nursery, Kaliabar, Nagaon were awarded in the fair. AAU Vice Chancellor Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka said that it was the farmers who played a key role in the development of the country and the regional agriculture fair helped to promote their products.
