Regional-level group dance & song competitions of Kendriya Vidyalayas held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Khanapara hosted KVS regional-level group dance and group song competitions under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat recently. The canvas of EBSB for the Kendriya Vidyalayas of Assam encompassed the colourful land, of Rajasthan.

Dr Sanjay Kumar, the Principal of KV Khanapara navigated the cultural events along with the entire fraternity of the school. Six clusters and 10 Kendriya Vidyalayas (142 students and 23 escorts) participated in these regional-level competitions under the Guwahati Region. Varun Mitra, Deputy Commissioner, KVS, Guwahati Region graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Venkateswara Prasad B attended the occasion as the guest of honour.

Renowned choreographers and musicians from Assam adorned the occasion as judges. The programme commenced with the welcome song of budding singers of the Vidyalaya and the felicitation ceremony of the chief guest, the guest of honour and the distinguished judges with Phulam gamosa, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. In a sequence, talented students of KV Khanapara filled the air with divinity with an amazing presentation of a Xatriya dance.

The young dancers and singers of various KVs captivated the hearts of the audience with their brilliant performances which were amalgamations of various art forms of the exotic land of Rajasthan.

The valedictory function started at 3 pm and it comprised a beautiful Bodo folk dance, beatboxing, and solo song which created a divine musical ambience in the Vidyalaya.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara bagged the first prize in the group dance competition and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jagiroad bagged the first prize in the group song competition, a press release said.
