Renowned Bodo poet Gahai Modai was felicitated by Udalguri district committee

UDALGURI: Renowned Bodo poet Gahai Modai was felicitated by Udalguri district committee of All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) for receiving the Sahitya Akademi award for his book on Bodo verses Khara Sayao Aro Himalaya for 2021. The ABSU honoured him with a citation, anga bashtra, a memento, and a bunch of flowers during the 47th annual conference of Udalguri district committee ABSU held at Harisinga.

Dr Devakanta Ramsiary, who was a legislator from Udalguri between 1996 to 2001, has published books on Bodo poems like Daohathilinifrai, Barmodai, Urmila Finnai Nong Songnai, Nong Folanai Suhabnai Modai Raringnai, Daoharu Daohathilini Modai Gothaisalini, Daohathilini Roho Roho Sawgari Sodob Gomalangnai, Aang Thagaibai Nama, Khara Sawao Aro Himalaya and Neyai Neyai Bela Babenbai. People greeted him for his elevation as poet.
