Resolution of burning issues demanded of Ward No 10 in North Lakhimpur town
Various burning issues, including artificial flood, have been paralyzing the normal life of the people living in the Ward No. 10 of North Lakhimpur town.

LAKHIMPUR: Various burning issues, including artificial flood, have been paralyzing the normal life of the people living in the Ward No. 10 of North Lakhimpur town. Especially, the people living at the back side of Abbas Market and Hazarika Market covering the Tiniali beyond the Late Bolai Ghos residential complex have to suffer a lot due to the non-resolution of the long-pending issues till date. In such a backdrop, the people of the area have expressed reaction and demanded the North Lakhimpur Municipal Board to intimate steps to mitigate the problems.
In this connection, a public meeting, covering the people of the area concerned, was organized at Marwari Bibah Bhavan on Sunday evening under the auspices of an 18-member convener committee. The meeting commenced with Monwar Hussain, one of the conveners, in the chair. The objective of the meeting was explained by another convener Sajad Hazarika. At the outset of the meeting, the attendees observed one-minute silence praying for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the people under the area concerned who died of COVID-19.
Prominent citizen Nanda Kishor Rathi, Sodou Koch Rajbonshi Sangram Samiti vice-president Rupjyoti Dutta, teacher Mufti Abdul Hasib, local citizen Subhas Dutta, Abbas Market proprietor Kousar Jaman Ali Hazarika, Krishnadhar Sen, retired teacher, Ratan Dutta, Mosqur Akhtar Ali Hazarika and Abu Naser Saleh Hazarika delivered speeches highlighting the problems of the area and measures for resolving them. After detailed discussion and as per resolution taken, the meeting constituted a 23-member North Lakhimpur town Ward No. 10 Western Area Development Committee selecting Monwar Hussain as president, Abu Naser Saleh Ahmed and Samir Kumar Das as working presidents, Balwan Sarmah, Narayan Das and Jamuna Prashad as vice-presidents, Sahad Hazarika as general secretary, Gopal Choudhuri, Kousar Jaman Ali Hazarika and Dinesh Parik as assistant secretaries. The committee will initiate steps to resolve the burning issues of the area concerned.
