Retired principal of Demow College passes away at Jorhat Medical College & Hospital

DEMOW: Naranath Chetia, Retired Principal of Demow College and a resident of Demow Kushal Path who was tested Positive for COVID-19 few days ago and was undergoing treatment at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital died on Saturday night. Naranath Chetia was an educationist, social worker, sports organizer. According to Sources, Naranath Chetia died of COVID-19. He retired as a Principal from Demow College in the year 2006. On the other hand both the sons of Naranath Chetia were also tested positive for COVID-19 and were undergoing treatment. The younger son was cured from COVID-19 but the elder son of Naranath Chetia is still undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dibrugarh. His demise has been widely condoled in Demow and its surrounding areas. The Demow Press Club, and local organizations of Demow paid tribute and condoled Chetia's demise. Business Establishments in Demow were closed as a mark of respect on Sunday. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives.
