JAMUGURIHAT: Narad Upadhayaya (77), a known Sanskrit scholar and a retired Sanskrit teacher of Gyan Vikash Academy, Sootea, breathed his last on Thursday evening at his Koroioni residence due to old-age related ailments. He was 77. Narad Upadhayaya has three books to his credit. They include Pinga Prachyam (Sanskrit), Sanskrit Bhasar Samu Parichay (Assamese) and Shakuntala (Nepali). He leaves behind his wife, three sons and daughter along with a host of relatives. His demise was widely mourned in the Sootea area.
