BAKSA: A review-cum-consultation meeting was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office, Baksa on Wednesday in presence of Dr. RG Anand, who is the member of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, (NCPCR), New Delhi.

The meeting took place under the chairmanship of Ranjan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Baksa and the meeting was attended by Hiranya Barman, Superintendent of Police of Baksa District, Sadhan Sarkar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Baksa, and other officers. Dr. RG Anand reviewed the implementation of activities of child protection in the district. He also discussed the preventive measures of child rights violation, created awareness on Sensitizing Action On Mental Health, Vulnerability Through Emotional Development And Necessary Acceptance (SAMVEDNA) and its toll free tele-counselling helpline number 18001212830 for those children who were affected during COVID-19 pandemic and are willing to talk or need counseling. He also asked for updates on implementation of Right to Education in private schools of the district and constitution of inspecting teams, identification and intervention of children by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team of the Health Department. He also talked about Operation MUSKAAN, Block Child Protection Unit (BCPU), issues related to Child Care Institutions (CCI) and promoted the concept of child-friendly district through the officials of the district.
