DIBRUGARH: State Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Ashok Singhal on Friday held a review meeting on AMRUT scheme at Deputy Commissioners’ conference hall in Dibrugarh. Regarding the scheme's implementation in Dibrugarh, the pipeline for raw water main pumping has been laid 6.08 kilometres out of a total of 6.3 kilometres, and the clear water transmission main has been laid 13.53 kilometres out of a total of 26.69 kilometres. Additional resources will be enlisted to complete the work by April 2023.

Total ward coverage was 19 and about 25,691 house connections were completed and the number of beneficiaries benefited was 1,67,733 till 2020. The Minister said, in Dibrugarh, physical progress is about 71.33% and the financial progress is 61.11%.

About 136 household connections were completed which is about 0.53% and the targeted date of completion is October, 2023 and about 2600 HHC is targeted to be completed by March 31. In the meeting it was also discussed about the various issues and hindrances faced with concerned departments.

Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan and DC Biswajit Pegu, DMB Chairman Dr.Saikat Patra, Vice Chairman Ujjal Phukan, Dibrugarh Development Authority Chairman Ashim Hazarika, and executive engineers and employees of PWD, Water Resources Department and concerned departmental officers were also present in the meeting.
