Rhino kills forest staff in Manas National Park

PATHSALA: In a tragic incident, an on-duty forest official was killed in a rhino attack at Bhuiyapara Range of Manas National Park in the morning hours on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Animesh Deka (34), a resident of Dekapara area of Bhabanipur under Baksa district. According to reports, the official was on his way to a local market with his colleague where he was attacked by the rhino. The other person, however, managed to escape from the spot, but Deka was reported to have died on the spot.

To add to the tragedy, Animesh Deka had got married just three months ago. The news has brought immense sorrow to his family members and the villagers.
