SIVASAGAR: State Information Commissioner Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap attended a workshop on Right To Information (RTI) Act at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar as a resource person on Tuesday. The workshop was held in presence of departmental heads of all government departments of the Sivasagar district. Dr Kashyap presented all clauses and provisions of the RTI Act in the form of power-point and analyzed them in detail. During the nearly three-hour long workshop, the State Information Commissioner addressed the questions raised by the heads of several departments of the district on RTI Act. Dr Kashyap said that the RTI Act was enforced by the people and it was in the interest of the people to provide the necessary information to the applicant within the stipulated time. The workshop was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Mandira Baruah, Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Debajit Nath and departmental heads of various departments of the district.
