

GUWAHATI: In an unfortunate road accident in the Baksa district of Assam, an eight-year-old minor boy was killed and his father who survived sustained severe injuries.
The incident took place during the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 17 February in the Ananda Bazar area of Baksa.
As informed by the locals, the accident happened as the car in which the victims were travelling suddenly lost control and rolled over 3 times on the road.
The victims at the time of the accident were travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Alto car bearing registration number AS 14 H 6539.
The father sustaining grievous injuries somehow saved his life but his 8-year-old son died on the spot.
The father has been identified as Mrigen Medhi and the deceased boy has been identified as Mrinmoy Medhi. Meanwhile, local police from the Ananda Bazar Police station reached the accident area after getting informed and recovered the dead body of the child.
Further, the body of the eight-year-old boy was then sent to the nearby Hospital named Mushalpur Civil Hospital for post mortem report.
Police informed that the father Mrigen Medhi was also taken to the hospital in critical condition and at present, he is treated with necessary medical aid.
The passenger vehicle that got badly damaged in the accident has been taken away by the police.
As per sources the father and son were heading towards their home in Ananda Bazar after attending a marriage function in the Roumari area of Assam but unfortunately met with a tragic accident in their way.
In yet another road accident in Baksa district, two youths moving towards Jalah village in a two-wheeler died on the spot after they met with an accident on National Highway no. 13. The bodies of the two youth were found lying on the roadside.
