LAKHIMPUR: A programme as a part of the Integrated Education Campaign on Road Safety Awareness was held at Dhakuakhana College of Lakhimpur district on Saturday.

The programme was organized under the auspices of the Lakhimpur District Road Safety Committee and District Transport Office in association with the Dil Swadhin Air NGO.

Lakhimpur District Transport Officer Sitaram Doley was present in the programme as a chief resource person who laid emphasis on abiding by traffic rules. “At present, there is an exorbitant increase in the number of vehicles everywhere keeping pace with the growing population. In the programme, assistant enforcement inspector Rajibjyoti Bhuyan highlighted various aspects of traffic acts and the penalties being charged for the violation of the traffic rules. He also appealed to the students to obey the traffic rules and to create awareness among the people about these rules.
