Road Safety Awareness Campaign Organized at Sivasagar District

SIVASAGAR: Following the directives of the District Road Safety Committee, Sivasagar District Transport Office, in association with the NSS and Scouts and Guide Unit of Sibsagar College, Joysagar, organized a road safety awareness campaign on Wednesday near the areas of Sibsagar College, Joysagar and Rang Ghar to sensitize people about Traffic Rules and New Motor Vehicle Act, 2019.

Similarly, a street campaign for road safety was also organized on October 25 at NH-37 near Jhanji. The campaign was conducted jointly by the Jhanji College unit of Scouts and Guide, NSS, District Police and the team of District Transport Office. The campaign was organized with a view to sensitize various road users about obeying traffic rules to minimize road accidents along with creating awareness on the new MV Act, 2019 (Amended) and its penalties for violations of certain provisions. Further, the District Transport Office conducted safe driving training and testing of four-wheeler riders.
