GUWAHATI: The team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced wheel clamping to prevent the unauthorized parking of four-wheelers and two-wheelers on the no-parking area of railway premises.

Under Section 159 of the Railway Act, 1989, the RPF is authorized to register a case against the person and vehicles who parked on the no-parking area of Railway premises. Likewise, at other stations, the act of wheel clamping was implemented at Guwahati Railway Station to prevent parking in no-parking areas. During this month of June, the RPF Post at Guwahati has registered as many as 75 cases under Section 159 of the Railway Act. Railway users are aware not to park their vehicles on the no-parking area of the Guwahati Railway station premises.
