Safe life kit introduced at Silikhaguri Health and Wellness Centre in Lakhimpur district

Attempt to create awareness on family planning

LAKHIMPUR: As a part of the programmes initiated to create awareness on family planning, safe life kit (SLK) was introduced at Silikhaguri Health and Wellness Centre (H&WC) under Dhaulpur Block Primary Health Centre of Lakhimpur district.

The safe life kit has been introduced in order to help in family planning, reduce unwanted pregnancy and to ensure safe pregnancy. Notably, Silikhaguri H&WC is the first and foremost centre of the kind, wherein safe life kit has been introduced.

Regarding the introduction of the kit, an awareness meeting was organized in the Health and Wellness Centre on Wednesday. In the programme, Health Officer Bijit Deury, Lakhimpur District NHM Family Planning Coordinator Chaitanya Borah addressed the health workers and the gathering. On the other hand, Dr Jagadish Goswami, the Joint Director of District Health Services, appreciated the initiative of Silikhaguri H&WC. He called upon the other H&WCs of the district as well as the State to introduce the safe life kit.
