Sanitary pad bank inaugurated in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The Women's Cell of Bir Raghav Moran Government Model (BRMGM) College, Doomdooma has set up a sanitary pad bank in the college as an endeavour towards promoting menstrual health and hygiene among the girl students. The bank was formally inaugurated on Saturday by Journalist Abhijit Khataniar.

In his inaugural speech, Khataniar spoke about the health and hygiene to be maintained by the girls during their menstruation period. The inaugural ceremony was chaired by the Principal of the college Dr. Amorjit Saikia while the president of the Women's Cell, Dr. Pranita Neog explained the aims and objectives of the bank. In his speech, the principal Dr Saikia told about various projects to be undertaken by the college in the days to come.

The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Akshay Jyoti Mahanta, an Assistant Professor of Sociology, besides, a girl student Simismita Bora, secretary of the Women's Cell, offered the vote of thanks at the end.
