LAKHIMPUR: "Sankardeva accepted a realistic view of the world. He visualized the philosophy of mankind with progressive ideology 500 years ago. His spiritual philosophy is nothing but the philosophy of transformation which uplift the human values and lead the human beings towards the attainment of divine qualities to create a world free of hatred and violence, full of peace, progress and bliss," stated Ranjit Kakati in Lakhimpur on Sunday.

The spiritual speaker-cum-writer and journalist said this while taking part in the 'Dharmalosana Sabha' organized at Kadam Anchalik Bor-Namghar under Kadam Revenue Circle of the district in connection with the celebration of 573rd birth anniversary of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.

The appointed speaker further said, "Religion loses its all qualities of holding the existence of the society, unless it is established with a strong foundation of science and philosophy. In such condition religion cannot do well for the people. Keeping this in his view, 'Gurujona', through his spiritual philosophy, aimed at upgrading the moral and ethical standard of the people, irrespective of their caste and creed, by advocating the popular, easy path of Bhakti, that is pure devotion."

The Dharmalosana Sabha commenced with Kusha Ram Sonowal, an exponent of Sankardeva created culture, in the chair. It was inaugurated by another exponent of Sankardeva created culture, Puspadhar Sonowal. In the programme, Ranjit Kakati explained the spiritual philosophy of Sankardeva rendering a psychological analysis of the basic principles of his ideology. Another speaker-cum-teacher Kamal Sonowal highlighted Sankardeva's Ideology of equality and literary talent. Poet Lohit Baruah recited a self-composed poem on the spiritual icon while executive committee secretary Jagat Gogoi presented the secretarial report of the past session.

It is notable here that Kadam Anchalik Bor-Namghar has relentlessly worked to keep the noble ideology of Sankardeva and his tremendous contributions to the Assamese alive at a time when a section of intellectuals of the State has shown their negligence to establish the relevance of Sankardeva's teachings to the mankind in the contemporary time. As part of such works, the institution celebrated the 573rd birth anniversary of Srimanta Sankardeva with a four-day-long agenda from October 14 to October 17. The agenda of the event started with the Bisoy Basani Sabha on October 14. On the other hand, the main agenda of the birth anniversary celebration kick-started on October 15 with Prabhat-pheri and Usha-Kirtan at 3.30am. Shri Shri Adhar Xatra Xatradhikar Jogeswar Goswami unfurled the Dharma-Dwajja. On the same day, newly constructed Namghar building was inaugurated followed by smriti tarpan, plantation drive, Bhagawat recitation and interpretation programmes. In the evening, Sudarshan Natya Gosthi of Dhemaji staged a bhaona named 'Matsya Avatar'.

On October 16,Nam-Prasanga, Bhagawat procession, a series of competition events on various Sankardev created culture among students, devotees' convention were organized. On the concluding day, Nam-Prasanga, Guru-Charit, Ghosa recitation were held in addition to the Dharmalosana Sabha. The four-day-long event concluded with the staging of a bhaona named 'Bipra Damodarar Akhyan, Dantabakrar Muktilabh' by the artistes of the Rangpuriya Yuva Samaj.
