Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurates playground & pavilion of Tengakhat HS School

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that peace and harmony have been the hallmark of the present BJP led State government as the government has plunged itself in transforming Assam into one of the five top performing States of the country using the harmonious coexistence of all sections of the people of the state.

Speaking at the inaugural function of Tengakhat Police Station which has been built under MOITRI scheme at a function held at Tengakhat in Dibrugarh district on Friday, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the BJP led state government has been able to strengthen peace and harmony in the state. He also said that as against the regime of the Congress government where group and ethnic clashes had taken the toll of the state, the present BJP led State government has been successful in strengthening peace, tranquillity and harmonious coexistence among all sections of the people of the state. He also said that under the present BJP government no clash in the name of caste, creed and ethnicity has been reported from any part, as all sections of the people are coordinating with the efforts of the government in making the state progressive and prosperous.

Attributing the present improved law and order condition in the state to the professionalism and dedication of Assam Police, Chief Minister Sonowal said that with the help of the sound law and order condition prevailing in the state and the existing peace and harmony and all the developmental schemes, State government is in the process of transforming Assam into one of the five most developed states of the country.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minster of the country Narendra Modi, Sonowal said that it is because of the leadership of the Prime Minister, initiatives were taken to upgrade the police stations of the state under MOITRI scheme. It is because of this scheme, police stations have been upgraded, police forces have been modernized and protection of lives and properties of the people of the state have been made possible in a more professional way than ever before. He also said that it is because of the diligence and dedication of the state police, dignity of women has been ensured, crime against weaker and marginalized sections have been curtailed, poaching of the famous one horned rhinoceros has been stopped and overall law & order situation has improved. Chief Minister also said that technological intervention is another corner stone of the MOITRI scheme, as the police stations have been empowered with new communication technologies as a result of which police forces have got the required impetus to negotiate with crimes to provide justice to everybody.

He also said that under the present government using Digital India programme inclusive development has been made possible as the poor and impoverished sections have been empowered to open bank account to enable them to enjoy the fruits of direct benefit transfer of all the government schemes. Sonowal also thanked the 8.5 lakh tea garden workers who have opened their bank account to include themselves in the larger process of financial inclusion.

Later in another programme Chief Minister Sonowal inaugurated playground and pavilion of Tengakhat Higher Secondary school built under Chief Minister Sammagra Grammya Unnayan Yojana by Assam Youth Development Mission Society with a financial grants for Rs. 20 lakh at Tengakhat, stated a press release.
