Sarupathar Man falls victim to fraudsters from Jharkhand, Loots around Rs 80,000

Sarupathar: A person who is reported to be around 70 years old, a resident of Sarupathar under Golaghat district on Tuesday had alleged that some unidentified miscreants had withdrawn an amount of Rs 80,000 from Jharkhand ATM by cloning his ATM card on February 24.

The victim identified as Harendra Nath Gogoi has now lodged a complaint with the bank authority at the State Bank of India of Sarupathar Branch.

While speaking to the media, Gogoi said on February 24 Rupees 40,000 and on February 25 Rupees 40,000 total Rupees 80,000 has been withdrawn from his account, the money allegedly was withdrawn from Jharkhand ATM and also told that no fraud call has been received from the past few months.

Meanwhile, when the victim Harendra Nath Gogoi went to Sarupathar SBI to lodge a complaint about the fraud matter, the bank manager and the authority had also advised him to lodge a police complaint at the local Police station in connection to the matter.

Moreover, no action has been taken from the SBI Sarupathar branch after 16 days past. Later when the victim along with local media personal entered inside the premises of the SBI Sarupathar branch to know about the matter, the SBI authority and the branch Manager got furious and the matter got intensified, stated the victim.

"The Bank Manager and the cashier both insulted us and further asked us to leave the place. After that the bank Manager called me inside did their bank formality," said the victim.

According to the branch Manager the fraud people from Jharkhand who made the clone ATM cards and withdrawn the 80,000 cash from the Jharkhand ATM.

On the other hand, the local people had also alleged before the media that entire SBI staffs of Sarupathar branch behave roughly to their customers from a long time and some other also consume alcohol during duty hours.
