The cleaning staff in the Sarusajai Covid Centre have staged a protest in demand of their wages.

It has been reported that 27 workers were involved in the demonstration and alleged that they were not paid for 3-4 months in this time of crisis, even though they worked for several hours.

The workers said that they were brought to work by a contractor named Akbar Hussain.

Despite complaining about the issue to the health ministry regarding the non payment of salary by the workers, the department did not bother to take any action for which they are deprived from getting their incentive, they said.

The protestors also alleged that they are not being given proper accomodation. Rather, they have been made to share rooms with the people living in Sarusajai quarantine Centre , they claimed.
