Sashastra Seema Bal cycle rally reaches Lalpool

UDALGURI: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has organized a cycle rally to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The cycle rally started from old Circuit House, Tezpur on August 25 and will end at Rajghat, New Delhi on October 2. A total of 15 SSB jawans from the units under frontier Tezpur are participating in this rally. Three participants are from 23rd battalion SSB Lalpool.

The rally team comprising officers, subordinate officers and jawans of SSB reached 23rd Bn Lalpool on August 26. The team further proceeded to another unit of SSB at 37 Bn Mangaldai and its Sector Headquarter at Bezpara. During the rally, the cyclists planted saplings at Dhekiajuli and Lalpool. SSB Jazz band also played melodious music and tunes at various prominent and historical places enroute. A short programme at Kahibari of Udalguri district was also organized where the local people of Kahibari welcomed and cheered up the rally team of SSB for further journey.

About the rally, Rohitashwa, the commandant 23rd Battalion SSB, said that this cycle rally had been organized to spread the spirit of discussion on environment, plantation and Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat. Rajat Pandey of SSB Lalpool is leading the rally team.
