'Save Education Day' observed in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district committee of All India Democratic Students' Organization commemorated Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the pioneer leader of the 'Renaissance of India' on his death anniversary on Friday. On this occasion, the organization organized a Shradhanjali programme near the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

This year, the organization observed the death anniversary of the noble figure of the nation as 'Save Education Day' in demand of putting a stop to alleged communalization, privatization of education in India and to scrap the National Education Policy, 2020. On the other hand, the Lakhimpur district unit of Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan observed the event at Saboti-Padumoni Janajati High School. District convener of the organization, Lily Doley, teachers, students of the school were present in the event.
