Say no to plastics: Scouts and Guides conduct rally for awareness

BONGAIGAON: The members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Railway New Bongaigaon District Association N F Railway have been working for the past two years to reduce plastic pollution. They stopped using single-use plastic and encouraged their neighbours, community and shopkeepers in their localities to stop using single-use plastic, under the leadership of Deepika Sharma (RL, NBQ).

They organized a rally from New Bangaigaon district Scout Hut to Sitlabari field. They picked plastic on the way to Sitlabari field. They convinced the shopkeeper near Dolaigaon Shiv Mandir to use paper and jute bags and also distributed paper bags. They also went door-to-door to convince people not to use single-use plastic and to adopt alternative materials.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides spread awareness through social media by painting their faces and by organizing a small exhibition where they showed how to reuse and recycle plastic.
