GOLAGHAT: Following the schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India, the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Bibhash Chandra Modi published the schedule for Golaghat election district by calling a press meet at the DC's conference hall on Saturday.
As per schedule, the filing of nominations will start from March 2, last date for making nominations is March 9, scrutiny of nominations will be done on March 10, last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 12, date of poll in the four constituencies in Golaghat district is March 27 while counting of votes will be done on May 2.
The Deputy Commissioner said that there were two LACs - 95 Golaghat LAC and 96 Khumtai LAC. There are 288 polling stations in Golaghat LAC and 198 in Khumtai LAC. There are 1,96,613 voters out of which 99,073 are male and 97,540 are female in Golaghat LAC and 1,33,147 voters in Khumtai LAC out of which 67,246 are male and 65,901 are female. In the two LACs there are 10 zones and 35 sectors.
Besides, there are 720 D-voters - 485 D-voters in Golaghat LAC and 235 D-voters in Khumtai LAC.
