School buses seized by Transport department in Howraghat
The District Transport department officials seized five buses of Pranab Vidyapith School of Bokajan recently.

HOWRAGHAT: The District Transport department officials seized five buses of Pranab Vidyapith School of Bokajanrecently. Official sources have informed that the buses were seized as appropriate documents were not produced.
Motor Vehicle Inspector Bipul Kurmi visited the school campus to verify the documents of all 11 buses in the school. Out of these buses, five did not have updated documents, while another had complete documents but had crossed the permissible time of operation. It is not clear whether the seized buses lacked physical fitness or not.
The Inspector mentioned that some vehicles crossed the permissible period for operation which is against the law, particularly when the passengers are students and the authority is concerned about their safety.
The officer said that notices were served to all the schools having school buses regarding the safety measures of vehicles used in carrying students.The action of the transport department has been appreciated by many.
