LAKHIMPUR: "With the objectives of 'equal right', 'equal dignity' and 'equal development', our party, Sanmilita Gana Shakti, Asom (SGSA) is all set to contest in the ensuing Assembly Election. Though our party took part in the last Assembly Election forming an alliance with the ruling party, the BJP MLA of the Dhakuakhana constituency had not only neglected us but also involved with conflict in the past days. So, our party will stand candidate against the BJP in Dhakuakhana LAC in the forthcoming assembly election".

This significant statement was made by Sunil Kumar Pegu, the chairperson of the Mising Autonomous Council (MAC), who is also the central committee leader of the SGSA, in Dhakuakhana on Sunday. He said so while taking part as guest of honour in a party meeting organized by SGSA Bilmukh regional committee at Ga-Dangarchuk Kristi Bhawan under Bilmukh Panchayat of Dhakuakhana.

In the meeting, Sunil Kumar Pegu appealed to the party members and activists to leave no stone unturned to strengthen the organizational base of SGSA 'which was fighting for securing the right of the Mising community.'

"The Mising community voters will play crucial role in the victory of the MLA contestants in the 26 assembly constituencies of Upper Assam in the ensuing assembly election. Especially, our community voters have played remarkable role in every election from Rangapara to Sadiya and Sadiya to Bokakhat. So, our voters should cast their franchise in the ensuing assembly election in view of securing the greater interest of the community," Sunil Kumar Pegu added.

Notably, over hundred members of BJP and Congress joined SGSA in the meeting which commenced with Shashidhar Patir, the SGSA Bilmukh regional committee president, in the chair. Youth leader Padma Losan Doley, who is aspirant of contesting in the assembly election from Dhakuakhana, welcomed the newcomers with a gamosha.

Addressing the party workers, Padma Losan Doley said that the conspiracy, which has been hatched by Naba Kumar Doley to destroy the regional power, would not be allowed to be executed.

"In Dhakuakhana, SGSA and AGP will unitedly fight in the forthcoming assembly election. Surely this time, Naba Kumar Doley will lose his foundation which was AGP and SGSA. These two strengths will not support him at any cost. Most of the people in Dhakuakhana are aggrieved with him at present", asserted Padma Losan Doley in his lecture.
